Washburn, the world’s second oldest guitar manufacturer, today announced that its first all-solid acoustic/electric Comfort Series guitar is now available for immediate delivery to retailers.
Introduced at NAMM 2018, the new Comfort All-Solid acoustic/electric Model WCG700SWEK-D marks a new first for the authentic American original that has inspired generations of players since 1883. In fact, the new Comfort Series model, carrying an MSRP of $1,783.90 (MAP $999), is the industry’s most affordable all-solid guitar with an ergonomic armrest bevel that provides guitarists with greater comfort and reduced player fatigue.
The new guitar features a solid Torrefied Sitka spruce top, solid African Ovangkol back and sides, an ebony fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, Graphtech Ratio-tuned tuners — and Fishman Presys Blend electronics with microphone and tuner.
This unique combination of top-quality materials and built-in electronics is what gives the guitar the loud and warm tone that is craved by many of today’s players. The Ovangkol back and sides provide characteristics that fall somewhere between Indian rosewood and black walnut. A hard shell case is included for protection and portability.
