Take1 Insurance and Event Safety Alliance Team Up To Help East Brandywine, Pennsylvania Fire Department

Take1 Insurance (www.take1insurance.com), the live entertainment industry’s leading insurance provider, last week partnered with Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company (www.firemansfund.com) and the Event Safety Alliance (www.eventsafetyalliance.org) to help strengthen the emergency preparedness of the East Brandywine, Pennsylvania Fire Company with a $10,000 to fund the purchase of new handheld radios.

The new handheld radios will enable emergency responders to better communicate with each other at the scene of an emergency.   When first responders can clearly articulate instructions and commands, the community is better served.  “Effective communication is critical at the scene of an emergency.  It helps save lives and property by enabling a more efficient and coordinated response,” said Chief John Edwards. “We are thankful for this grant from Take1 Insurance and Fireman’s Fund.”

Funded by Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, the grant to the East Brandywine Fire Department is part of a nationwide philanthropic program that is celebrating its 10thanniversary. Founded in 1863 with a social mission to support the fire service, Fireman’s Fund today awards grants to fire service organizations for life-saving equipment, firefighter training and community education programs.  Since 2004, Fireman’s Fund has awarded grants to more than 2,100 different organizations totaling more than $31 million — including $850,000 in Pennsylvania. Independent insurance agencies and brokers that sell Fireman’s Fund products, like Take1 Insurance, are able to direct these grants to support the fire service.  Through this program, Take1 Insurance has directed nearly $80,000 in grants to fire departments nationwide.

Take1 Insurance joined forces with the Event Safety Alliance (ESA) to strengthen first responder capabilities of local firefighters.  East Brandywine, Pennsylvania is the home county of the Event Safety Alliance and is adjacent to the world renowned Tait Towers live event staging and special effects company and the burgeoning Rock Lititz campus that serves the global live event industry. “As an ever increasing number and complexity of live events take place throughout the region of the ESA, the preparedness of our first responders has to be second to none to ensure the public safety,” said ESA Executive Director Jim Digby.

“Take1 Insurance and Fireman Fund’s support of the ESA and the entire live event production and staging industry is unwavering,” said Scott Carroll, Executive Vice President and Program Director of Take1 Insurance.  “This entire area of Pennsylvania is rapidly becoming the practice area for major global touring entertainment companies and, as far as we are concerned, a practice event is just as subject to risk as any other live event.”
