Underscoring the fact that Covid-19 has fundamentally altered the type of live event safety plan that needs to be put into place for every post pandemic event, the Event Safety Alliance and Take1 Insurance today announced the addition of an important new session to close out the 2020 Event Safety Virtual Summit — “Planning Through Tough Times: Figuring Out Your Covid 19 Response.”

Take1 Insurance is the Presenting Sponsor of the 2020 Event Safety Alliance Virtual Summit that takes place December 7-11, 2020. Registration is now open here at a cost of $99 for ESA members and $125 for non-members.

Led by safety consultant and Event Safety Alliance Canada President Janet Sellery, the 3-hour workshop will include an overview of relevant resources, segment-focused small group activities, and live Q&A. Attendees will emerge with tools, tips, and a planning framework to organize a response with a view towards resuming events safely and responsibly, regardless of their size or type.

“Planning for the future in a post Covid world has never been more important than it is today, said Event Safety Alliance Chairman and President Jim Digby.  “We all long to return to our venues and events as they were in the “before times.” While some activities have resumed, there is still much uncertainty about when and how to safely reopen as the science around COVID-19 evolves. Effective health and safety protocols are essential for successful events in this “New Abnormal” era and plans must be customized to reflect the user’s unique needs, challenges, opportunities, and jurisdictional requirements.

According to Take1 Insurance Executive Vice President and Program Director Scott Carroll, “COVID-19 has taken an unprecedented toll on the live events industry. A sector that at one time was growing exponentially was put on hold in an instant. But this isn’t the end for live events, not by a longshot. Our industry is already adapting to the reality of a post Covid world and is taking the necessary steps to ensure that every live event produced is as safe as possible. This vitally important session will help them continue to be prepared.
