NanOS 2.0.0 unlocks the Nano Cortex’s full potential with a customizable signal chain, a massively expanded device list, IR Loader Global Bypass, and more.
HELSINKI, FINLAND, April 23, 2025 — Neural DSP today announced the release of NanOS 2.0.0, a significant software update for Nano Cortex that fully realizes the potential of Neural DSP’s compact powerhouse. With a customizable signal chain, 47 new effects and utilities, and new workflow tools designed to meet the demands of modern guitarists and bassists, NanOS 2.0.0 transforms Nano Cortex into a fully featured, all-in-one guitar and bass rig built for the studio, stage, and everywhere in between.
To showcase what’s now possible, Neural DSP brought together Cory Wong, Henrik Linder, and Jack Gardiner for a new performance video shot at the Matterhorn, Zermatt. Powered entirely by Nano Cortex, a USB power bank, and portable speakers, the track is a vivid demonstration of what this all-in-one rig is capable of. Click here to watch.
Launched in September 2024, Nano Cortex immediately impressed users with its compact design, studio-grade sound, and Neural Capture technology. With NanOS 2.0.0, it delivers on its full vision: a complete rig in the palm of your hand, with everything you need to shape your sound your way.
“Nano Cortex was designed to deliver professional sound in a radically compact form – and with NanOS 2.0.0, it’s now even more powerful, flexible, and inspiring to play,” said Douglas Castro, CEO of Neural DSP Technologies. “This update reflects everything we believe modern gear should be: uncompromising in sound, intuitive in design, and ready for any studio, stage, or session.”
What’s New in NanOS 2.0.0
- Customizable Pre and Post Effects Slots: NanOS 2.0.0 gives players enhanced control over their signal chain. Choose which devices to place in two Pre Effects Slots and three Post Effects Slots, giving you unprecedented freedom to shape your tone.
- Vastly Expanded Device List: With 47 new Effects and Utilities, NanOS 2.0.0 gives players significantly more tone-shaping options. Many are based on iconic gear from TC Electronic®, BOSS®, MXR®, Universal Audio®, and more. Highlights include:
- 3 EQs, 3 Utilities, and 8 Compressors (including the iconic Legendary 87, based on the Universal Audio® 1176®)
- 4 Wahs, 2 Filters, 9 Guitar Overdrives, 2 Bass Overdrives
- 6 Modulation Effects, 5 Delays, and 5 Reverbs
- Input Gate: A new dedicated Input Gate sits before the Pre Effects Slots, freeing up space for more creative effects while still handling unwanted noise. Existing presets automatically migrate settings to this new position.
- IR Loader Global Bypass: For users running Nano Cortex through a real cab, the new IR Loader Global Bypass lets you bypass cabinet simulations across all presets in one step; no more manual tweaking.
A New Era for the Nano Cortex
With NanOS 2.0.0, Nano Cortex evolves into one of the most versatile and portable all-in-one rigs available today. It’s a fully self-contained rig for guitarists and bassists who don’t want to compromise on sound or control, no matter where they play.
“As a musician, you never stop evolving. Neither do we,” said Francisco Cresp, Neural DSP Co-Founder. “NanOS 2.0.0 is our answer to everything players have asked for and more. This is your tone, your way, with no compromises.”
