New smart gate operator product line for the DIY channel enables gates installed up to ½ mile from the home to be controlled from anywhere via smart phone.
Nortek Security & Control LLC (NSC), a global leader in wireless security, home automation, access control, and health and wellness technology, today announced the introduction of the next generation of Mighty Mule® wireless smart gate operators for single and dual gate operation. The introduction took place at the 2019 National Hardware Show in Las Vegas, Nevada at Booth #6631 in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“We are excited to bring smart wireless connectivity to the self-installed gate operator market,” NSC Product Manager Chris Mandell said today. “These new gate operators provide an unparalleled level of convenience, with longer range and faster speeds. Users can place their gate farther away from their homes, and still monitor it from virtually anywhere using their smartphone. These are ideal for people who own large tracts of land where the gate will be outside of typical wireless distance from the house.”
According to Mandell, the new Mighty Mule smart gate operators empower consumers to monitor their gates from anywhere with the use of the Mighty Mule app, a smart phone and the new Mighty Mule MMS 100 Wireless Connectivity System that is sold separately. With the MMS 100, users can communicate with and control gates that are installed up to one-half mile from the house — a range greater than that offered by any other company.
“Additionally, the new line offers gate open and close speeds that are as much as 40% faster than competitors,” Mandell said. “Faster speeds and longer gates can actually pose a challenge due to wind, torque and other elements that could lead to a ‘whipping’ experience for the gate. Fortunately, our soft start and stop feature improvements mitigate this risk.”
Reaffirming the Mighty Mule tradition of offering the ultimate in DIY simplicity, the new product lineup debuted today provides fast and easy installation and comes with all of the standard installation hardware, manuals and how-to videos to help quickly complete the installation. The lineup consists of single and dual swing automatic gate operators that offer exceptional value, performance and ease of installation to meet customer needs.
The new smart gate operators include the MM572W, MM571W, MM372W and MM371W models. The MM572W features an 18-month limited warranty and is designed to handle gates up to 18-feet in length that weigh up to 850 pounds. It comes with a 1-12V 7AmpHr battery, control box with battery box, three-button remote with visor clip, transformer, mounting clip, and instruction manual. The MM571W offers the same features as the MM572W but is designed for single gate operation.
The MM372W features a 12-month warranty and can handle gates that weigh up to 550 pounds and measure up to 16-feet in length. It comes with a control box, three-button remote with visor clip, transformer, mounting hardware, and an instruction manual. Battery is required and is sold separately. The MM371W offers the same features as the MM372W but is designed for single gate operation.
In addition to smart gate operators, Mighty Mule is also introducing two new automatic gate operators: the MM272 and MM271. These operators provide fast, quiet gate opening from the comfort of a vehicle using the Mighty Mule Remote Transmitter. The MM272 is designed for dual gate operation and handles gate lengths up to 12-feet and gate weight of 300 pounds. The MM271 offers the same features as the MM272 but is designed for single gate operations. Both models feature a 12-month warranty and come with a control box, three-button remote with visor clip, transformer, mounting hardware, and instruction manual.
“The new Mighty Mule gate openers give users an entirely new level of convenience,” Mandell concluded. “We look forward to sharing them with visitors to the National Hardware Show.”
