LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill., April 30, 2024 – LG Business Solutions USA announced that the LG CLOi ServeBot has been recognized with the 2024 Red Dot “Best of the Best” Award – the highest distinction in the international award program’s product design category.
“CLOi humbly accepts this tremendous honor from the leading international design competition,” said the robot’s spokesman, LG Business Solutions USA Senior Vice President Michael Kosla. “Complementing its unique award-winning design, the LG CLOi ServeBot has already set a new standard for the entire robot product category as the world’s first commercial robot to receive UL certification for safe operation in consumer environments. Boasting impressive customization options, precise navigation and powerful battery life, the CLOi ServeBot has freed up valuable time for staffers to focus on developing relationships that create repeat customers.”
Each year, the Red Dot Design Awards set out to find the year’s best products. The Red Dot jury judges applicants on whether their products are aesthetically appealing, functional and innovative. The Red Dot: “Best of the Best” award is specifically given to the most pioneering design across product categories.
Operating for up to 11 hours on a single charge, the LG CLOi ServeBot offers full customization through a vivid 10.1-inch, 1200×800 full-color touchscreen that displays menus, specials, videos, “last call” messages or a friendly digital robot face. It can be programmed for any floor plan with unlimited points of interest, enabling precise navigation and multi-point deliveries.
With four removable shelves that are adjustable with 2.8 inches of vertical movement, the CLOi ServeBot is built to transport food or goods in a variety of restaurants, bars and other hospitality settings. Once a shelf reaches its 22 pound (10kg) maximum capacity, integrated weight sensors detect it is full and automatically returns the CLOi ServeBot to a preset zone for unloading. The upper storage bin and bottom shelf with optional pull-out drawer offer convenient places to keep items like utensils.
At the end of its “shift”, or when power is low, the CLOi ServeBot can automatically return to the optional charging stand, which provides a full charge in just 3.5 hours, versus 4.5 hours from a 120V wall outlet.
The CLOi ServeBot measures at 54 inches tall, has a footprint of 21.6 by 22 inches and features a top speed of 1.2 meters per second (2.7 mph). The model’s shelves measure 20.8-inches wide by 17.3-inches deep to maximize surface area.
The autonomous robotic solution was also honored with an Innovation Award at CES 2024 and recognized as one of TIME’s Best Inventions in 2022.
