The origin of Natal dates back to 1958 when distinguished British percussionist Alan Sharp created his own line of custom assembled instruments. His original Afro-Cuban bongos were of such high quality that orders from other percussionists poured in. The Natal Percussion Company was formed in 1965 as a result of the increasing demand for instruments designed by Sharp. The ensuing fiberglass congas enjoyed a huge success and became the percussion of choice by artists that included Santana, T. Rex, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple, and the Rolling Stones. Alan Sharp’s design legacy continues to influence Natal’s current design team, who have have produced a stunning range of drums, snare drums and hardware. Every part and component is designed from the ground up. Natal is committed to producing drums and hardware of the highest standard of quality. As well as being British designed, Natal drums and hardware are British quality controlled.
