Asserting that smart home technology is increasingly becoming a key infrastructure in every home building project, Core Brands today announced that it has been designated the exclusive provider of control, audio, and connectivity solutions for the 2015 ABC Green Home 2.0, now being developed by Green Home Builder magazine and built by Habitat for Humanity in Walnut, California.
The ABC Green Home 2.0 will be a Net Zero Energy, LEED, multi-generational home of 2,400 square feet. Designed by the team at The KTGY Group Architects, the ABC 2.0 Green Home will also feature Universal Design throughout the two-story house, which is being built for a combat-disabled U.S. Veteran and family.
“The ABC Green Home 2.0 Project is designed to demonstrate best practices in high performance housing. The home will be constructed per LEED for Homes, Cal Green, Build it Green, California Advanced Homes, ENERGYSTAR and NAHB Green,” Nick Slevin, Publisher of Green Home Builder magazine said today. “These programs represent a high standard in national third-party certification for energy efficient and sustainability in new home construction. We are extremely pleased to showcase the Core Brands portfolio of solutions in the home as they very much represent best practices in every area of smart home technology control and entertainment.”
According to Core Brands Director of Business Development Joe Lautner, Core Brands has been selected to provide ELAN®, SpeakerCraft®, Sunfire®, Panamax®, and Xantech solutions to the home, which will serve as a Green Home showcase for Southern California homebuilders as well as the community at large when it opens later this year.
“The ABC Green Home 2.0 project serves as a case study for what we have been saying for a long, long time,” Lautner said today. “Smart, energy efficient green homes do not have to be expensive to build and own. Everything can be scaled to suit the economic parameters of the project. We are proud to be able to showcase how our leading edge control, audio, power management, and connectivity solutions can be ‘connected’ together easily and effectively in an affordable smart home.
Lautner emphasized that, when the project is completed, it will serve as a model for forward-looking homebuilders and systems integrators who understand that smart home technology add genuine marketability to a home. Even more importantly, these integrators and builders can design these systems by working with one complete solutions provider — Core Brands.
“More and more, our solutions are being selected by smart home designers and builders who are looking to create living environments that feature the smartest, eco-friendly control and functionality. We are proud to be associated with this LEED registered home building project.”
