Core Brands’ Bret Jacob Certified To Serve as a CEDIA Outreach Instructor

Building on its commitment to introduce the building and design community to the benefits of smart home technology, leading automation, audio and power solutions provider Core Brands today announced that Director of Builder Sales Bret Jacob has been certified by the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) to serve as a CEDIA Outreach Instructor.  The designation enables Jacob to deliver multiple courses approved for continuing education credit by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the American Institute of Building Design (AIBD), Interior Design Continuing Education Council (IDCEC)-governed interior designer associations (ASID, IIDA, and IDC), and the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).

The CEDIA COI courses are part of the association’s industry outreach efforts that are designed to strengthen collaboration between home technology professionals and the design and build industry. As technology continues to grow and change at a rapid pace, the courses that Bret Jacob offers will help design and build professionals to better understand the capabilities of residential electronic systems. The courses are provided at no charge by Core Brands.

“I am very excited to be able to deliver valuable training content to the builder and design community on a variety of important topics relating to the implementation of electronics systems and control automation in homes and buildings,” Jacob said today.  “This is another example of Core Brands’ commitment to the Builder Channel and smart home technology, as we continue to expand the reach of the ELAN brand in partnership with our valuable global network of ELAN professional installers.”

Local chapters of industry partner associations, such as AIA, AIBD, NARI, and ASID are encouraged to contact Core Brands to take advantage of this free education. Courses cover such topics as hiding technology, planning for residential electronics systems, and lighting control. Interested individuals and organizations can contact Bret Jacob by email at or by phone at (800) 472-5555.
