American Institute of Architects, California Honors LG with Architectural Innovation Award

Acknowledging the impact that display technology has on architectural design, the American Institute of Architects, California presented LG Business Solutions USA with its Architectural Technology Innovation Award during a virtual ceremony celebrating the completion of a large-scale digital display installation at its Northern California headquarters.

“This award recognizes LG for their significant and meaningful contributions to the architectural profession in California, and for pushing the boundaries of display technology,” said AIA CA President Debra Gerod, FAIA. “On behalf of more than 11,000 architects and design professionals in the state, AIA California recognizes LG for innovative solutions like the Cableless LED and Transparent Signage, as well as its commitment as a partner to the architectural community.”

LG Business Solutions USA Vice President Clark Brown called the award a testament to how display technology continues to enhance architectural design competences. “Display technology enables architect professionals to build dynamic and memorable experiences. This prestigious recognition reinforces the fact that technology is a design element in its own right,” he said.

LG collaborated with AIA California to outfit their new office with cutting-edge displays. The goal was to create a space that reflected the values of the architectural profession and exemplify the future of design. The organization incorporated a number of show-stopping LG commercial solutions, including Ultra-Stretch displays, touch screens and OLED “wallpaper” displays.

“As we embarked upon our new office project, one of the primary drivers was to create a space that showcased how design can create an environment that increases the productivity of our staff and efficacy of our members while enabling organizational success,” Gerod said. “This was only possible with a collaborative, integrated team effort, and LG’s displays were integral to making this a success.”

Brown explained that advances in commercial display technologies are “opening new horizons for architects, especially those designing unique public spaces.” Particularly noteworthy are giant LED Signage screens, such as the new LG LSAA series that raises the bar for flexible design and ease-of-installation while delivering the superb video performance that clients demand, he said.

To help architects and designers integrate advanced commercial display technologies into their building projects, LG has launched an expansive library of Building Information Modeling (BIM) online resources. Also catering to the needs of architects and builders is the “One LG” initiative, a single source not only for advanced commercial displays but also for award-winning commercial HVAC systems, solar modules and energy storage systems, smart home technologies, built-in appliances and more.
